More Christmas Favourites

As Christmas gets even closer here are this week’s favourites…

Mince Pies

The pastry we make for our mince pies melts in your mouth as soon as they hit your tongue! The mincemeat is sweet and with a gentle dusting of icing sugar you could even pretend you baked them yourself! You can buy various sizes and patterns from our bakery depending if you like it deep filled or a nice lid of pastry on top. We also have some pre-boxed homemade mince pies to give as a gift or take to your friends for a cup of tea.

Sausages

We all know Christmas dinner is not complete without some cheeky pigs in blankets and they taste even better cold on Boxing Day! Our butchery counter is brimming with homemade sausages, we have the traditional Devon pork, chipolatas and our gluten free sausages but if you want to spice up your Boxing Day left overs why not try our venison sausages or our recently created pheasant and rosemary as something a little different.

Bread

Toasted fresh bread with scrambled egg and smoked salmon on top is a real Christmas breakfast treat (or tradition for some people)! Our bakery is always full of freshly baked bread of all shapes, sizes and flavours giving you the perfect loaf whether it’s for a thick, soft turkey sandwich or a crisp, light piece of toast for your pate. Here are some of the breads you can find in the bakery this Christmas; spelt & honey | multiseed | corn | donker | chia | white loaves | granary Loaves | sour dough | wholemeal loaves and if you are gluten intolerant you can find our homemade gluten free bread in our freezers or give us a call to have a loaf freshly made. There is nothing better than the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning.

Christmas Pudding

Our delicious, moist rum & brandy infused Christmas puddings come in all sorts of sizes to fit your family - including an individual portion size if you want one all to yourself, or know a certain someone who deserves their own. We also make gluten free Christmas puddings, look for the ones wrapped in green and our ‘Gluten Free’ label. Don’t forget to pick up the clotted cream to top your pudding off perfectly on Christmas Day.

Please note: Although we try to have all your favourite things in the Farm Shop some may sell out early in the day or may need pre-ordering to avoid disappointment on arrival. If you know you want something specific, please do not hesitate to contact us before coming down.

Testimonals

  • My family and I visited last Sunday for the roast dinner and all I can say is wow.

The portions were generous and there was plenty of meat, on both the small and large plates, and a good selection of veg. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was piping hot… There is also a great selection of desserts and the apple pie was delicious.

If you are ever in the area do yourself a favour and visit!

  • The farm shop is well stocked with an in house Bakery and Butchery department, all offering excellent produce, much produced by the proprietors themselves and all beautifully displayed.

  • First rate! The food was excellent and the staff courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend the restaurant. We will be going there again.

  • The children LOVED picking the strawberries in the fields, the restaurant was absolutely superb, it was busy but the staff were very attentive, the garden was beautiful and their was plenty of space for the children to run around in.

The menu had a lovely selection of items and a good choice for little children too.

  • Just visited and had the best roast dinner....ever! Quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. Thank you Lifton farm shop just what the doctor ordered.
